A Letter From Our President – Summer 2019

There are 7.5 million people in North Texas, and that number continues  to grow. Each day, we are inspired by the countless hometown heroes  we encounter through our work at Communities Foundation of Texas. They continue to remind us that our future here is bright.

Our everyday hometown heroes are as diverse as our community. They come from many different places, cultures, areas of expertise and professions, and they all have one thing in common: they are difference makers who share a common passion for building a thriving community.

This edition of IMPACT is dedicated to the everyday heroes of North Texas:​

  • From recently retired Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki and his wife, Jessica, chairing our North Texas Giving Day this year, to each of you  who will help us crush the record-breaking $48 million to 2,700 nonprofits through last year’s Giving Day – don’t forget to save the  date for 9-19-19 – you are heroes.
  • To the members of our Live Oak Society who are leaving a charitable legacy that will impact our community long beyond their lifetimes,  you are heroes.
  • To each donor who has been willing to share their story of generosity to help inspire others, you are heroes.
  • To each of our nonprofit partners and our team of staff experts working daily to build a thriving community here in North Texas, you are heroes.

There are endless options to make an impact, and we’re always here  to help. We’re grateful to work side by side with so many of you, our hometown heroes.
