As the director of CFT for Business, JJ works with companies of all sizes offering a wide range of philanthropic services to help start or grow a company’s giving and community engagement program.

Prior to joining CFT, JJ spent a decade in the financial industry — most recently as senior vice president of community development at Texas Capital Bank. He also led teams in regulatory compliance and private wealth management. JJ was born and raised in Oak Cliff, and he still resides there with his wife, Anjulie, and bright-eyed daughter, Amaya.

JJ attended Dallas College before earning a bachelor’s in marketing and management from the University of Texas at Arlington and a law degree from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth.

Community Leadership / Board Service

JJ serves on the advisory boards for Dallas ISD Superintendent Hinojosa, the North Texas Food Bank and The Real Estate Council (TREC) Community Investment Fund. He also serves on the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Education and Workforce Council as well as the boards of Educate Dallas and Leadership ISD.

He is the founding board president and current advisory board chair of the Leadership Forward Mentoring Program, a one-on-one mentoring program focused on encouraging and supporting Oak Cliff high school and college students to excel academically, professionally and, ultimately, in our communities.

JJ is a proud Leaderships ISD (2017) and Leadership Dallas (2020) alumnus, and he was a class adviser the LD Class of 2021. In 2022, JJ was selected as a 40 under 40 honoree by the Dallas Business Journal.
