As deputy director, Ellen is focused on resourcing Educate Texas’ strategic goal to generate new degrees and credentials to the state and to strengthen the state’s teaching and leading pipeline.
Prior to joining CFT, Ellen served as development officer at Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and assistant director of special events at Children at Risk. She also spent two years teaching sixth and eighth grades at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston.
Ellen holds a bachelor’s in art history with a minor in poverty and human capability studies from Washington and Lee University.

Ellen enjoys volunteering with Children’s Hospital as a patient pal and serving as the co-chair of Washington and Lee University’s Dallas alumni admissions program.
