As the deputy director of strategy and higher education at Educate Texas, Erica co-leads Career Connect Texas (formerly WE CAN TX). Career Connect Texas (CCTX) is a peer-learning network that brings together leaders from across the state to build education-to-workforce pathways, beginning with dual enrollment and leading to certificates, degrees and credentials that position Texans to secure family-sustaining wage jobs.
Prior to joining CFT, Erica spent nearly a decade as assistant director of research in mathematics education in Southern Methodist University’s School of Education.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in art history and Spanish from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Texas, Arlington.
