Rob Walters

Board of Trustees

Rob Walters joined the CFT board in 2020. He is a senior partner at Gibson Dunn, a member of its world-wide executive committee, and a nationally known trial and antitrust lawyer.  Rob has litigated many multi-billion dollar disputes, including, most recently, the Department of Justice’s antitrust challenge to AT&T’s $106 billion acquisition of Time Warner, Inc.  Rob also served as Executive Vice President of Energy Future Holdings, one of the country’s largest electric power companies.

Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies (Plan II) from The University of Texas at Austin, summa cum laude, and a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law, magna cum laude.  Rob and his wife, Carolyn, live in Dallas and have two sons, Cav and Chris.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP / BOARD SERVICE

Rob is a member of the Executive Committee and Chair-Elect of the Dallas Citizens Council, is a founder and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Klyde Warren Park, and is on the Board of Directors of the Child Action Poverty Lab.  He also serves on the board of the University of Texas School of Law Board of Trustees and on the Plan II Board of Visitors at the University of Texas at Austin.  He also has served on the boards of the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System and the Dallas World Affairs Council.  Rob has received a number of civic awards, including the Anti-Defamation League’s Jurisprudence Award.
