In recent years, CFT has worked to celebrate and uplift inspiring Black historical figures. On December 7, 2022, CFT honored Dr. Marcellus Clayton Cooper with the installation of a historical marker outside the Caruth Homeplace in acknowledgement of his historical importance and impact as he forged a path forward for many in the community across Texas and around the country.

On Sept. 29, Heritage Auctions will offer more than 125 pieces from Mary Anne Sammons Cree's extraordinary jewelry collection as the centerpiece of the Fall Fine Jewelry Signature® Auction. Proceeds from the sale of Cree’s jewelry will benefit The Rosine Foundation Fund of Communities Foundation of Texas, so named for Mary Anne’s mother, from whom she inherited her spirit of giving.
 

Support for Uvalde

On May 24, 2022, nineteen children and two adults were murdered when an 18-year old gunman entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Other victims remain in critical condition. According to Texas Department of Public Safety, this is Texas’ deadliest school shooting.
