New Collin County Economic Opportunity Assessment Released 

This assessment highlights challenges and opportunities in Collin County


CFT released a new assessment in partnership with JPMorgan Chase reavealing that, while Collin County’s rapidly expanding population and young, diverse workforce is one of the region’s greatest assets, Collin County also faces many obstacles and barriers that threaten the upward mobility of many residents, including disparities by race/ethnicity, income, educational attainment, and wealth. 

Freedom Day 2020

Volunteers rally together for the 19th annual Freedom Day centered around Equity and Justice for All!


Communities Foundation of Texas’ 19th annual Freedom Day community service event will be held in observance of the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and the federally-recognized National Day of Service and Remembrance, September 11 and as part of the North Texas Giving Day season. Hundreds of volunteers representing CFT for Business member companies, sponsors, CFT fund holders, staff, and DFW-area veterans will join in service around the theme of Equity and Justice for All.

Donate a Book, Change a Life

DFW Book Drive on June 20 – 28 to benefit Mi Escuelita, Readers2Leaders, Reading Partners, and United to Learn


When businesses and city services across Dallas closed because of the COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted to do something to help those affected by the disruptions the pandemic caused. When the City of Dallas made the necessary decision to halt operations of the Dallas Public Library’s 29 branches around the city, children, especially those in lower-income households lost access to much-needed reading materials.

CFT's Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Cohort Graduates, Awards $50,000 to Local Nonprofits

$50,000 in grants will benefit three nonprofits: Southern Dallas Link, Miles of Freedom, and At Last


CFT and our second cohort of young philanthropists, Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy (ELP), are thrilled to announce that $50,000 in grant funding will go to support three local nonprofits: Southern Dallas Link ($35,000), Miles of Freedom ($10,000), and At Last! ($5,000). 65 young leaders graduated from the second cohort in May 2020 after completing their nine-month journey in the program.

North Texas Giving Tuesday Now

CFT, Dallas Cowboys, and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas come together to raise critical funds for COVID-19 relief and recovery now through May 5


CFT has partnered with the Dallas Cowboys and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas to create a special emergency response day of giving called North Texas Giving Tuesday Now, as a regional activation of the global Giving Tuesday movement, #GivingTuesdayNow.

CFT4B's Women's Collective Event - Board Service

A Fresh Perspective: Through the Eyes of the Executive Director


Each year, we host a conversation around nonprofit board service which usually takes the form of discussions around governance or perspectives from Board members. This year, we decided to take on this conversation from the perspective of Executive Directors within Nonprofits. Our Women’s Collective Event welcomed close to one hundred women in business and women in nonprofit. Attendees included women who serve on a board or were interested in Board service.
