STEM Skills Fuel Minds Through New North Dallas School Feeder Pattern
With the goal to inspire students to “see and feel” the impact of STEM courses in school and in life, Educate Texas and Richardson ISD, through a $4.6 million grant from the Texas Instruments Foundation, created STEM for All – a hands-on science, technology, engineering and math initiative reaching 10,000 Pre-K–12 students in the Berkner High School feeder pattern.

Bridge to College and Career Success Inspires Houston’s Opportunity Youth
With more than 111,000 disconnected young adults in the Gulf Coast region, Educate Texas teamed up with JPMorgan Chase & Co. to bring to life the Bridge to College and Career Success program, which is helping to establish innovative educational support and work-based learning partnerships across the community to reengage these disconnected youth through career-focused education or training that will build toward a viable livelihood.

Collaboration in Rio Grande Valley Energizes Student and Regional Success
Through an impassioned, committed effort by RGV FOCUS, a collective impact initiative between business, education and community organizations in the Rio Grande Valley, the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District is now better utilizing data, counseling support, and new governance structures to proudly graduate 25% of its students with associate degrees.

Exciting Launch of Texas NSI Collaborative Will Take On 8th-Grade Math Outcomes
With 8th-grade math now seen as a key indicator in students’ future success, Educate Texas, Learning Forward and the Dana Center teamed up, thanks to a $500,000 grant from the Gates Foundation, to motivate and support four North Texas districts to approach 8th grade math in new, innovative ways. The Texas NSI team will get to the “root causes,” then provide hands-on coaching and resources to help drive change.

El Paso Partners for Ongoing Meaningful Impact on Students
El Paso Collaborative for Academic Excellence and Educate Texas enhanced its partnership with 12 school districts, two higher education institutions and workforce leaders by creating community-level educational goals and activating working groups to meaningfully act on the biggest challenges facing the more than 226,000 students in the region.

College and Career Readiness Network at the Heart of Statewide Change
In 2018, through the Texas Education Agency’s College and Career Readiness School Models network, Educate Texas joined forces with educators and counselors statewide to explore how to clear the path to higher education and share best practices to fuel student success. With leaders from more than 300 Texas schools representing more than 254,000 students working together, exciting change was bound to happen.

Texas Student Success Council Drives Home Policies Critical to Students’ Success
With only one in five Texas 8th-graders completing any higher education credential, the Texas Student Success Council, convened by Educate Texas and comprised of education, business and community leaders and policy makers, works fervently to inform statewide educational policy that inspires innovative changes and streamlines K–12 pathways “to and through” higher education.
