Plano-based Chamberlain Ballet was established in May 1984 by Founder and Artistic Director Kathy Chamberlain as a pre-professional ensemble to provide students a stepping-stone to professional dance careers. Chamberlain Ballet is committed to furthering the arts: enriching the North Texas Community, enlightening with arts education, and encouraging through outreach programs. Chamberlain Ballet takes great pride in ongoing efforts to expand its cultural diversity through performance collaborations, providing exceptional advanced dance training to pre-professional students, supporting the community with performances, and reaching the underserved with multiple outreach programs.

They have developed a board matrix to help maintain a board diverse in heritage, background and expertise. They are seeking board members who are of Hispanic American or Latino American and Asian descent, to more accurately mirror Collin County demographics. They are also seeking board members who have experience in law, finance, development, and marketing.

Board dues are a minimum of $125 per year, with encouragement to support the organization with donations to the annual campaign. Chamberlain Ballet board members attend performances and events. Board members select a board committee in which they have interest and expertise, and volunteer time to support that committee. Executive officers give 5-15 hours a month. Typical board members serve 2-4 hours a month depending on meeting and agenda. Their annual retreat is a full-day in August. Board meetings are currently at 7 pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
