Dallas Art Therapy

  • Dallas Art Therapy strives to provide art therapy in Dallas for free or low-cost to participants. They build relationships by partnering with local businesses and nonprofits and providing public events. They also offer services in the form of individual, family, group, and open studio art therapy provided by master’s level art therapists and art therapy interns trained to provide mental health services.

  • Dallas Art Therapy is seeking four new board members to begin terms on January 1, 2022. Member terms last three years. Specific board member needs include:

    • Organizational leadership and advisement
    • Organization of the board of directors, officers, and committees
    • Formulation and oversight of policies and procedures
    • Financial management, including adoption and oversight of the annual budget
    • Oversight of program planning and evaluation
    • Personnel evaluation and staff development
    • Review of organizational and programmatic reports
    • Promotion of the organization
    • Fundraising and outreach
    • Attend and participate in monthly meetings
    • Attend a minimum of two special events per year, as they are determined
    • Participation on a standing committee, and serving on ad-hoc committees as necessary
    • Board committees meet an average of four times per year, pending their respective agenda
    • Alert to community concerns that can be addressed by Dallas Art Therapy’s mission, objective, and programs
    • Communicate and promote the organization’s mission and programs to the community
    • Become familiar with Dallas Art Therapy’s finances, budget, and financial/resource needs.
    • Understand the policies and procedures of Dallas Art Therapy
    • Financially support Dallas Art Therapy with a minimum fundraising goal of $500

    The board meets 10 times per year on the second Tuesday of the month, 6:30 p.m. at 2007 N. Collins Blvd. #411, Richardson, TX 75080. Meetings typically last 90 minutes. Board members are expected to attend a minimum of 8 meetings per year.
