The Compass School of Texas is 501c3 non-profit private school that opened in August 2023 for grades PK-4 through 2nd grade. The school will expand through 8th grade by 2029. The average class size is between 12-16 students with two teachers and rotating specialists through each classroom.
The mission of The Compass School of Texas is to provide an engaging and wholesome academic foundation that fosters analytical and independent thinking. They value the partnership between families, educators, and students. Their educational approach instills the joy of learning through intentionally curated classrooms and natural environments. Compass students will have the opportunity to explore and discover through multi-disciplinary learning and authentic experiences.

The Compass School of Texas Board of Directors is looking for new board members who will support the vision and mission of the organization through strategic leadership, governance, and advocacy. You will be expected to build a working relationship with other board members, the Executive Director, key Compass leadership and stakeholders to meet the organization’s objectives.
Board Leadership should:
• Understand the vision, mission, programs and needs of The Compass School of Texas community.
• Understand the policies and guidelines to ensure appropriate governance.
• Engage with Compass leadership in support of their positions and responsibilities.
• Enhance Compass’ public image through personal and professional connections that can benefit Compass’ fundraising, brand and advocacy for the Compass and education community.
Qualifications include:
• Influential leader in business, government, disabilities, education, philanthropy, and other valuable areas.
• Commitment to and understanding of The Compass School of Texas approach to learning.
• Strong relationship and consensus building skills.
• Actively serve on a committee or assist in organizing an event.
