Dallas Geological Society
The Dallas Geological Society/DGS/Hilsewick/Shepherd/Sistrunk/Stanley/Dodge Scholarship Endowment Scholarships (DGS) Scholarships are one-year awards of up to $5,000 given to current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in Geological Sciences. Number of recipients and award amounts vary.
Deadline: April 1, 2025 -
- Eligible applicants must be U.S. Citizens or documented residents of the U.S. (student visas will not qualify).
- Must be students who reside in the Dallas area or whose parents reside in the Dallas area majoring in the study of Geological Sciences.
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 Scale.

Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and school and extracurricular activities. Preference will be given to undergraduates who have completed 12 semester hours of advanced or core geology courses beyond the introductory level.
It is recommended that all applicants submit at least one letter of recommendation. Graduate student applicants are required to include an outline or abstract of their thesis topic.
