Community Foundation Week, celebrated nationally November 12 – 18, was created in 1989 by former President George H.W. Bush, in recognition of the important work of the 750+ community foundations throughout America and their collaborative and innovative approach to working with the public, private, and nonprofit sector to address community needs. Annually, Community Foundation Week coincides with National Philanthropy Day on November 15.

CFT’s North Texas Giving Day is one of the ways we seek to achieve this vision, by growing community giving and expanding community impact. In September, 97,000 donors collectively gave $63.9 million in an outpouring of support for 3,200+ nonprofits. We extend heartfelt thanks to each of the individuals, families, and businesses who supported the causes they care about through NorthTexasGivingDay.org this year, especially during a time when charitable giving has decreased across the nation.
