2022 Social Services Grantees

Grants will support emergency financial assistance programs in response to rising community needs

Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) recently offered a funding opportunity for nonprofits focused on providing emergency financial assistance in our local communities, including support for rent and mortgages, utilities, childcare, transportation, healthcare, and more.

A total of $435,000 was awarded across 35 nonprofits dedicated to providing social services in North Texas, in alignment with CFT’s grantmaking pillar of “Living.” The funding came from the Communities Foundation of Texas discretionary grantmaking dollars, including the Phoebe & Russell H. Perry Fund, the Rosine Fund, and the Collin County Impact Fund.

“We have heard from our nonprofit partners that they are seeing increased need for financial assistance due to current economic conditions,” said Wende Burton, CFT’s Chief Philanthropy Officer. “Our goal with this grant is to provide additional funds that our nonprofit partners can use to provide assistance to many across our region who are facing challenges, helping their clients move from surviving to thriving.”
