Since our inception in 1953, we have made more than $1.9 billion in grants to support education, health care, public safety, social service, animals, the arts and more — touching nearly all aspects of life in our community.

The Letter of Inquiry process supports programs that address needs across the North Texas region (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Rockwall and Tarrant Counties). Through this process, each year, Communities Foundation of Texas has provided approximately 50 to 60 grants annually between $5,000-$20,000 to nonprofits in the region. Below is the list of all the nonprofits that were grant recipients in 2019.

22Kill – Veterans


22KILL works to raise awareness of the veteran suicide epidemic by educating the public on Post Traumatic Stress and other mental health issues. They do so by providing traditional and non-traditional forms of therapy that focus on mental and physical health, with the primary focus of suicide prevention through empowerment.

Abounding Prosperity


Abounding Prosperity's mission is to provide services that address health, social, and economic disparities among Black Americans, with a particular emphasis on gay and bisexual men, cisgender women, transgender women, and their families. Funding is requested to support the expansion and enhancement of the HOPE Health Center Test and Treat program to include Outreach and Recruitment, Program Engagement, Peer Health Navigation, and Bridge Care.

After-School All-Stars


After School All Stars (ASAS) North Texas provides comprehensive after-school and summer programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life. Funding is requested to support their free, comprehensive after-school programming at an under-resourced Dallas County school site.

Agape Clinic


Agape Clinic's mission is to provide quality health care services unconditionally to underserved people. Funding is requested to support a 3-person medical team, comprised of a nurse practitioner, medical assistant/translator and a medical scribe, to provide efficient, low-cost, and compassionate medical care in South Dallas.

Agape Resource & Assistance Center's mission is to provide safe, stable housing and transformational support services to women and children debilitated by homelessness and poverty to empower them to move from crisis and poverty to fulfilling, self-sustaining lives

Amphibian Productions, Inc.


Amphibian Productions produces innovative and engaging theatre that inspires new ideas, opens new doors, and increases understanding of the vast world around us. Funding is requested to support program "De-Cruit" for veterans to share their own stories with their veteran brothers and sisters. De-Cruit combines Shakespeare, actor training, and scientific monitoring (through EEGs, FMRIs and heart rate tracking) to overcome the effects of PTSD.

Arlington Urban Ministries


Arlington Urban Ministries (AUM)’s mission is to provide emergency assistance for utilities, rent, and food to those in crisis in our community. Funding is requested to support the Arlington Independent School District's Families in Transition Program. A pilot initiative, AUM’s Thriving Families program seeks to help at least two families move from a weekly hotel into a more stable, permanent location by providing financial classes, job search help, moving resources, furniture and household items, utility assistance, and emotional support.

Arthur Wells Helping Hands Center’s mission is to provide services and programs that are designed to empower, strengthen, and promote self-sufficiency among community residents.  The Center operates in the southern sector and serves an extremely under-served population with a majority of the residents living at or below the poverty level.

Baylor Healthcare System Foundation


Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center at the Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center in Dallas provides health care and wrap-around services that address prevention and social determinants. Working together with the City of Dallas, this is a joint effort to provide better prevention and access to care.
