Ways to Help: Responding to COVID-19

Nonprofits need our support

We’re inspired by our community’s growing response to support local nonprofits and individuals deeply impacted by COVID-19. Our team of experts has been in communication with area nonprofits and wanted to share some of the most urgent community needs. Please give what you can, however you can!

GIVE – FUNDING IS THE #1 NEED

Fund community clinics, shelters, and social service agencies, while maintaining (or increasing) gifts to other organizations of all kinds across the country.

GIVE FOOD

Donate shelf-stable food for those who need it most. Homeless shelters and food pantries are desperately in need of food donations to meet increased demand. Contact your local pantry about safely dropping off donations.

GIVE MEDICAL SUPPLIES

Provide much needed medical and cleaning supplies to community clinics and nonprofits serving on the front lines of the COVID-19 response.

GIVE BLOOD

Blood donations are invaluable at this time. Our community’s blood supply is in jeopardy, as people are afraid to donate. This can be done safely and will save lives.

VOLUNTEER (EVEN VIRTUALLY)

Nonprofits depend heavily on volunteers. Reach out to your favorite nonprofits to see how you can help and check out the many virtual volunteering opportunities via Voly.org.

Give to the North Texas Community Response Fund

Join Communities Foundation of Texas in supporting the critical work of local nonprofits. Donations will support organizations working with people and communities most affected by COVID-19, such as:

  • individuals and families needing access to food, housing, healthcare, and basic needs;
  • vulnerable populations including seniors and those experiencing homelessness;
  • supplementing lost wages and/or housing costs.

Give to the Get Shift Done Fund at CFT

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, The Get Shift Done for North Texas Fund was launched at CFT to address both affected service workers who have lost their paychecks while providing immediate support for increased demands on nonprofits, especially with respect to hunger relief. Help keep service workers working while also keeping food on the tables of our North Texans in need.

Support Our Entire North Texas Community

All North Texas nonprofits are impacted by COVID-19 and need our help regardless of if they are on the front lines right now. Please continue or increase direct support for these key partners – especially those having to cancel programs, performances, events and fundraisers.
