The Time for Change is Now

A Message from Communities Foundation of Texas

Communities Foundation of Texas and Educate Texas join millions of other voices across America in condemning the violent attacks against Asian Americans across the country, including the senseless murders that occurred this week in Georgia. We stand with all communities and especially now the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. We mourn the tragic loss of life.

We must acknowledge that these events did not happen in isolation. These actions have been tolerated or ignored by far too many, even as documented reports of anti-Asian hate incidents have risen by 150% nationwide in the past year.

At Communities Foundation of Texas, our vision is thriving communities for all. We are committed to working together and demanding more from one another, to ensure that our community members live without fear for their own safety and the safety of their children and loved ones. We must advocate for swift action to combat systemic racism, bias, xenophobia, and the unacceptable violence that has grown from poisonous intolerance in our society. The fight for racial equity and justice is a deep and complex issue that no single person or organization can solve on their own. We must engage, listen, and support, and use our hearts, minds, and collective voices to achieve positive and lasting change.

We are committed to driving policy change, supporting nonprofits, and using our collective voice and community partnerships to ensure these recent events remain in our past, and not our future.

Below are some organizations supporting the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities that we encourage you to consider giving to and engaging with:
