CFT’s 2024 Professional Seminar

CFT’s 2024 Professional Seminar

Planning Ideas Worth Stealing

CFT’s annual professional seminar was held on May 14, 2024.  As our largest event for professional advisors, we aim to equip attendees with tools to achieve their clients’ financial and charitable goals. This year’s topic, “Planning Ideas Worth Stealing,” featured Professor Samuel A. Donaldson from Georgia State University College of Law.

Samuel took the stage to creatively highlight recent developments in federal, estate, and gift tax laws. During his presentation, Samuel provided insight on topics such as how best to maximize clients’ stepped-up bases, the importance of giving trust beneficiaries narrow general power of appointment and the importance of planning near a client’s death. Guests left the seminar not only with continuing education credits, but also feeling empowered to better support their clientsphilanthropic needs

CFT is honored to work with some of the best professional advisors in the industry who support our community’s charitably minded individuals, families, and businesses. For more than 70 years, we’ve worked side by side with estate and tax attorneys, CPAs, wealth advisors, and financial planners to help guide and execute donors’ charitable interests and plans.

This year’s seminar was “sold out” with a wait list, and professional advisors gathered from across North Texas eager to hear from our keynote speaker, Samuel. We were inspired by the collective passion to grow community giving!

Thank you to our Professional Seminar Committee. Chaired by Kathy Muldoon, committee members did an outstanding job of providing their guidance and time to ensure another exceptional program this year.
